Canadian Colleges: Quality Education at Bargain Prices

Canada offers quality education in the humanities, professions, and in business at a fraction of the cost of U.S. universities. There’s also something to be said for the broadening experience of life in another country-even another country as close to the United States as Canada.
Canada has no private universities in the sense we have. All Canadian universities are supported by provincial governments. Private funds are added.
College applications are made the same way as in the U.S. Students accepted by a school in Canada, however, must supply proof of adequate funds for the school year. Students heading for schools in Quebec must also be accepted by the provincial government.
Language: Despite controversy in Canada over language requirements, only three Canadian universities are bilingual (the Laurentian University of Sudbury, the University of Ottawa, and the College of St. Anne in Church Point, Nova Scotia). The others either teach in English or French, as noted below.
A fact sheet for prospective foreign students, along with other information and a complete listing of the available universities, is obtainable at the Information Division, Association of Universities and Colleges in Canada, 151 Slater Street, Ottawa, Ontario KLP 5N1.
